Julia Cameron, my doctor , and my dog Olivia have one thing in common, they want me to walk daily. Resistance is futile when confronted with the mental and physical benefits of this daily activity. So I have been walking every morning and ideas come flushing down my throat during this sacred time. This painting is an example of my thought process. I have so many things flying in my mind so I need to consolidate all these flying objects.

Julia Cameron, mon docteur et ma chienne Olivia ont une chose en commun: ils veulent que je fasse de la marche tous les jours. Pas la peine de résister quand on remarque les bénéfices physiques et psychiques d'une telle activité quotidienne. Donc, je marche tous les matins et les idées et autres inspirations se pressent au balcon de mon cerveau. J'ai qu'à ratisser. Cette peinture est un exemple du chemin suivi par mes errances quotidiennes, tout danse dans ma tête.

This prickly pear was teasing me from behind its protective red brick wall and was screaming at me to use it. So here it is. In its leaves one can see the sky of that gorgeous morning, the flowers along the way, my heart filled with love, the little creatures encountered, the jumbling of words in my brain, etc...

Cette plante de cactus me salut tous les matins de derrière son mur de briques rouges. Alors, fallait bien que je la mette sur ma toile, non? Dans ses feuilles on peut avoir une idée de tout ce qui se passe dans ma tête: le bleu du ciel de ce matin-là, les bestioles rencontrées, tous les mots qui dansent dans ma tête, mon coeur rempli, etc...

Encre, pastels gras, papier, acrylique appliqués par étapes, sur une toile de 12cm sur 50cm.

When my mother in law saw the following painting, she told me not to screw it up. It did put a bit of pressure and increased the time for me to finds its rightful direction, but I knew this was not a finished work. 

The turtles simply swam out of there on their own. I just had to follow the current.

Quand ma belle-mère a vu ce projet, elle m'a bien dit de ne pas le rater. Cette petite pression a délayé mon travail sachant que cette peinture n'était qu'une étape. 

Eventuellement, les tortues ont fini tout simplement par suivre le courant.

I painted this on a wood box. The initial painting is made with ink, acrylic and paper collages.
J'ai peint cela sur une boîte en bois. J'ai utilisé de l'encre, de la peinture acrylique et j'ai collé diverses sortes de papier

Bonjour en ce Jeudi

One project with my fellow artists in our gallery was to paint birds on 20x20 boxes. I loved the project so much that when I started I could not stop. Here is one of eight. They are all very colorful. I chose this one because he often pays me a visit on my morning walks pounding at the trees in search of worms or other food. I do feel sorry for him when he confuses a steel pole for a tree but I love looking at his colors and movements.

A la Galerie, un de nos projets étaient de peindre des oiseaux. Chacun des artistes devaient peindre un oiseau sur un bloc de bois de 50cm sur 50cm. J'ai adoré ce projet au point que une fois commencé, rien ni personne ne pouvait m'arrêter. En voici un des 8 oiseaux que j'ai peint, tous très riches en couleur. J'ai choisi de publier celui-ci parce que tous les matins je le vois et l'entend piquer les troncs à la recherche de vers ou autre insectes. C'est moins amusant quand il confond un pilier de téléphone pour un arbre. Pas le même bruit, mais je peux mieux apprécier ses couleurs.

This is the painting I was working on in my studio when the previous picture was taken. It is our palm trees here in Florida when winds are wild. They bend, their leaves blow all over the place but they don't break. Can you hear the noise?

C'est la toile sur laquelle je travaillais dans mon atelier sur la photo précédente. Ce sont nos palmiers en Floride qui plient mais ne se rompent pas quand les vents se déchaînent. Vous entendez ce bruit?

The back of the painting is acrylic worked like watercolor. Trees are collaged. I used masa paper that I previously worked and painted.

La toile est préparée avec de la peinture acrylique travaillée comme l'aquarelle. Les palmiers sont formés avec du papier collé. J'utilise un papier masa que j'avais peint, modelé et déchiré avant.

I now live in Orlando, Florida but I have lived on 3 continents.

Youth in Morocco, second youth in France, and third youth in the USA. 

I've had 3 careers. Artist is my first, teacher in my second, and painter in my third.

Je m'appelle Anne-Marie and je suis artiste peintre. Je vis à Orlando, en Floride.

J'ai vécu sur 3 continents, au Maroc pour ma première jeunesse,

en France pour ma seconde et aux US pour cette troisième.
